Glucocorticoids synchronise peripheral clocks with the master clock in the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the brain. In humans and mice, abnormal glucocorticoid rhythms induce blood pressure abnormalities accompanied by vascular dysfunction. The mechanisms of this remain unclear.
